Start of Year Assessment Days

A new start for 2018

Our school is reviewing our assessment and reporting processes, looking to strengthen our practices with a long-term focus of moving to a continuous assessment and reporting model.

In 2018 we will be starting our school year with Individual Student Transition and Assessment Interviews on the first two days of the 2018 school year for all students who will be in Years 1 to 11.

Individual Student Interviews and Assessments will be conducted on Tuesday the 30th of January and Wednesday the 31st of January. On these days students will only come to school for their allotted assessment time. 2018 classes for P-12 students will begin on Thursday the 1st of February.

Parents and Carers will have the opportunity to speak briefly with their new classroom teacher/s, and following this, the student will spend approximately 30 to 60 minutes (depending on their year level) completing an educational assessment in Literacy and/or Numeracy.

This transition interview and assessment allows our classroom teachers to have a full understanding of your child’s beginning point at the start of a new school year, meaning they can plan carefully for your child’s next stages of learning, including any intervention or extension learning needs.

Please keep your eye out for further information that will be distributed shortly, where you will need to select a preferred time for your family’s Individual student transition and assessment interview.
