Coastal Aths

As the next round for our secondary students in Athletics, a group of selected students travelled to Colac on Thursday 27th April to compete in the Coastal Region Athletics day. Geoff Couper and Linda accompanied our team of students who placed first and second in the Otway cluster Athletics day in Apollo Bay.

We have some great results for the day:

James Staley from Yr 11 placed first in the high jump and was the 20yrs Age group champion.

Juna Hack from Yr 7 placed first in his javelin event.

Both James and Juna will qualified for Greater Western Aths in Oct – Good luck!

Congratulations to all of our students who attended the event.

 House Cross Country

On Tuesday 2nd May, the whole school congregated at the Lorne Foreshore to compete in the House Cross Country event, which is our last House sports event for 2017.

We lucked the weather with sunshine and a few light showers and once again realised how lucky our students are to run their Cross country event on the beautiful Lorne beach.

Students in Yr 3 – 12 competed in the 2.5 km course (primary) and 3.5km course (secondary) to see which house would be victorious in the last of our house events for the year. It was fantastic to see all of our students trying their personal best and achieving great results.

Erskine came up on top winning by 77 points and continuing a very strong run of victories for the house in 2017!

Our P-2 students joined us for a shorter fun course (1.5km) and the effort from these students was amazing. Many of them ran the whole course without stopping which is such a great effort for our younger students!

Thanks to all staff and parents who assisted with the event and congratulations to all of our students who ran in the event.
