NAPLAN Results

We are generally pleased with our school’s 2017 NAPLAN (National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy) results and we have again had a number of means above State levels for our Year 7 and Year 9 students.

We have been particularly pleased with the tracked relative learning growth of our students.  Generally, schools aim for 25% of students to exhibit high growth between the two year test cycles.

Between years 5 and 7, 31% of our students had high growth in Reading, 46% in Writing, 31% in Spelling, 42% in Numeracy and 38% in Grammar & Punctuation. This wonderfully high growth between years 5 and 7 for students who stay at our school, demonstrates how a smooth transition from primary to secondary supports continued academic success.

In years 7 to 9, our best growth was in the literacy areas with 55% of students experiencing high growth in Reading and 50% in Spelling.

Well done to all of our students who participated in NAPLAN this year and thank you to our teachers for their continued hard work with our young learners to achieve these pleasing results.
