It gives me great pleasure to be able to welcome you as the Principal of Lorne P-12 College.
As an educator and father of three children, I know how important it is when families are trying to make a decision about which school will best meet the needs of their child. My hope is that the information we present to you will give you insight into what we offer as a Prep to Year 12 College.
I joined the Lorne P-12 College community after almost twenty years in the education sector in Geelong and the Surf Coast. I’m a passionate educator and have experience teaching from junior primary all the way through to VCE. I spent most of my time teaching in senior secondary classes with consistently high VCE results. For the last fifteen years I’ve filled numerous leadership roles in different school contexts with a focus on student learning and wellbeing.
I hold a Master of Instructional Leadership from the University of Melbourne, a Post Graduate Bachelor or Teaching from Deakin University and a Bachelor of Arts from RMIT. My experience as a teacher and education leader includes schools in the private and government sectors. And it’s these diverse experiences that inform my leadership of Lorne P-12 College.
At Lorne P-12 College our students are our number one priority. The core of our work is maximizing student learning growth in all curriculum areas at every year level. The college leadership team maintains a detailed and extensive strategic planning focus to ensure this goal is achieved. We implement a consistent approach to continual improvement, despite our already strong academic results.
We believe that establishing positive respectful relationships with students and families is the key to maintaining a caring, supportive school. At Lorne, our students are part of a dynamic learning community where individuality is fostered, student voice is valued and success is celebrated.
Our teaching team at Lorne P-12 College prioritise the development of high quality, contemporary curriculum that draws on best practice in its delivery. We aim to maintain a productive classroom environment where every student can maximise their learning opportunities and plan for successful future pathways.
