Rural Youth Ambassador

GABE YORKE

We are pleased to announce that Year 11 student Gabe Yorke has been nominated for a Rural Youth Ambassador position with the Country Education Project and from a large field of nominees throughout the state Gabe has been accepted to this position.

Gabe will work with nineteen other students from throughout country Victoria to investigate educational issues for rural students and strategies to overcome them. Gabe will take part in four forums with the other youth ambassadors and will have the opportunities to work with leaders in education and business, including the Minister for Education. He will take part in four forums with the other youth ambassadors, to be held during the next twelve months.

Gabe is the fourth student from Lorne P-12 College to hold a position as an ambassador in the six years since its inception, following Catherine Brooks, Freya Simonsen and Morgan Caruana as previous rural youth ambassadors.

A huge congratulations to Gabe and we look forward to hearing his progress with this exciting program.
