Year 10 Work Experience

Year 10 students recently took the opportunity to gain experience in a varied array of exciting working environments taking some students as far as Melbourne, Geelong and Benalla.Work experience allows students to explore their interests and gain insight into choosing the right sector to study and work in.

Some examples of student placements were; Tameika Allen was at Melbourne’s newly appointed optical illusion Museum ARTVO, where guests are encouraged to interact with the art work. The Lorne hospital hosted students, Georgia McCauley and Xyalia Hancock where their program  allowed them to engage with patients, residents and day to day life in the Health field. Simon Umbers travelled as far as Benalla to join the team at The Australian K9 Dog Detection Unit. Simon saw firsthand what is involved in becoming a specialist Dog Handler.

All year 10 students should feel proud of their commitment and maturity they have shown during term two in securing these wonderful placements.

The feedback we have received from employers has been outstanding and a reflection of their great efforts.
